Mystery Injuries

I've mentioned before that I get mystery bruises.

I bruise very easily so I often end up with bruises and have no idea how I got them.

I am also a bit of a clutz. It's genetic...from my grandma, my mom, me, my niece....

A lot of the time, though, I have no idea where or how I get the marks I get. I haven't walked into anything...they just appear. I have often woken up looking like a battered woman.

Yesterday, I had a new mystery injury.

I know it wasn't there when I got out of the shower.

I had an itch around noon, so I rubbed my back and it hurt a bit, but I thought maybe I had a bug bite. Around 4 pm, I felt a stinging, so I looked and found this scratch. (I know the photo is out of focus, but that's the best I could do at that angle.)

It is about 3 or 4 inches long between my shoulder and my bra hook. The skin is broken. No idea where I got it. I didn't walk into or fall into anything. I didn't scratch myself. Nothing sharp was in my clothes.

I don't know what the deal is, but it is very strange.

Perhaps a phantom is scratching you... ghosts can do that, you know.

I, too, suffer from mystery bruises, but mystery scratches are another matter...

Weird about the mystery scratch. But I to get bruises that I can not account for.

I used to bruise really easily, and my doctor told me I needed more vitamin C (it did seem to help). As for your scratch, could you have scratched yourself with your fingernail when you had an itch? I know I've left scratch marks on myself when reaching back to my neck or back.

I get mystery bruise sometimes, and my skin scratches easily and mysteriously too..but never as wide as yours.
Luckily I don't have diabetes (I hope I will never get it)

Shakespeare, a phantom would be a really fun excuse!

Sherri, no I know I didn't scratch myself. When I had an itch there, I barely touched it and it hurt and stopped itching. I still have no idea, but it is starting to fade.
