Pants with Wings

Today I put on a pair of city shorts, Bermudas, knee shorts, walking shorts or whatever you want to call them.

I have not worn them since last summer and I had forgotten that they have wings.

Well, no, not wings, but built in hips.

I understand that women are curvy and should have clothes made to suit our bodies, but really, I do not need built in hips.

These shorts fit me well in the waist, but make me look like I am wearing the clothes of someone else.

Look. You might be able to see the wings I am referring to in this shot:

If not, here I am pinching the amount of space between my actual hip and the end of the material where they suggest my hip should be:

In this one, I have pulled the material back so you can see what these shorts ought to look like.

I can sew, therefore, I am hoping to salvage these shorts because they are nice and rarely worn. I know I have lost a few lbs since I wore them last, but they fit like that then. With wings. Built in hips. Most women do not need added hips, including me.

Have you ever come across pants with built in hips?

Well I can't say I've ever found pants that had extra material in the hip area...that is my problem area and usually pants are too tight for me there...

My typical problem with pants is that they gape in the back of the waist area...I find that very strange. I'm skinny in my lower back?

I just got back from a not very fruitful hunt for jeans at Kohl's: they *all* had that gaping gap at the back of the waist area, as anonymous pointed out. I managed to find some bermudas that end just above the knee and hug my waist nicely.

... but no, I can't say I've ever found my pants/shorts to have extra "hip" space... perhaps my extra belly fat takes up the space? :p

Too amazing! I posted about shorts today too! Only about men's shorts. I myself would never wear shorts as I don't look good in them (as you do!)

I can't wear the shorts you are modeling, wings or not. I need to have the kind that sort of flair out at the bottom. My thighs are Texas huge. Yes! Try to fix them. God knows it's hard enough to find good clothes. Salvage what you can!

probably that shorts was supposed for those with wide hips and you just did not noticed it when the time u bought it because it fits..

gLoR!e, I've never heard of shorts for those with wide hips....so, if that's the case, then I probably did buy the wrong thing, but they should be labeled if they are for small waist and wide hips....I've never head of such a thing though. I haven't tried yet, this weekend probably, but I hope to fix it!

Thanks all!
